ABOUT ALLEY OOP FILMS
Alley Oop Films is Kate Duhamel's independent film production company. She is a writer, director and producer working in San Francisco. She has written and directed a feature film and four short films that have shown in film festivals around the country, and she has written five screenplays. Kate has also produced and directed three short documentary films for two humanitarian organizations. Kate is currently working on a series of music videos under the title of Kaleidoscope, writing a feature script, and devotes a portion of her time to various volunteer efforts.
Kate sits on the International Board, and is Chairman of the US Board of Directors, for Right To Play, a humanitarian organization using sport to teach health, life skills and peace and conflict resolution to children in war torn and poverty stricken parts of the world. Kate is a great fan and supporter of the very important work the organization does. Kate also sits on the board of the Far West Freestyle Ski Division, and recently stepped down from a three years stint as its chairperson. Kate is also a member of the California State Film Commission.
Kate attended Stanford University, and the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and has worked in the financial sector, and managed a cable television company prior to embarking on her film and writing career.
Kate lives in Marin with her three sons, husband and two dogs. She currently spends her free time standing on snowy mountains watching her sons compete in skier halfpipe, and visiting her native Iowa and other distant lands.
